Miss Sara is starting her 10th year teaching at FGDA and her 30th year of Dance! She continues her dance education by taking teacher workshops such as New York City Dance Alliance, Dance Teachers Web Expo & Convention Las Vegas (2010,2012,2017), Dance Educators of America Las Vegas, NY Dance Teachers Summit, and Rhee Golds Dance Life Conference for teachers (2015,2018,2019). Sara’s choreography has won the prestigious choreography award at StarPower Dance Competition. Sara hopes to enrich the lives of the Students she teaches, and believes that each day is truly a blessing. Miss Sara began dancing at the age of three at Maddox Dance Studio under the direction of Jeanne Peterson. Her extensive training includes Summer Dance Lab, Vail International Dance Festival, American Academy of Ballet, The Juliana School of Ballet, The Joffrey School in NYC, USA Collegiate Summer Dance Camp, and Oregon Ballet Theatre. Sara studied under Barbara Remington for five years at Stite’s Performing Arts Center in Gresham. She attended High School at Arts and Communication Magnet Academy in Beaverton where her focus was dance. She attended the University of Oregon for four years in which Sara was a member of the University’s National Champion Dance Team. Sara believes dance will always be a part of her life in some way, and is happy she gets to share that with the Forest Grove Community through teaching at Forest Grove Dance Arts.
